For the last 14 years I have been involved in Rural Health as a Practice Nurse, within a rural General Practice in the South Island of New Zealand. We cater for all health situations including acute medical and surgical emergencies, general medical, maternity, wound cares, health promotion and preventative health and wellness across all age groups.

I have been concerned by the increasing gap between the public health resources available and the growing demand for treatments.

Due to advanced technologies, diagnostic studies, assessment techniques and modern equipment, science has revolutionised modern medicine as we know it. Doctors now boast an array of diagnostic equipment at their disposal and have the technology available for quick reporting of the results.

Unfortunately, you - the patients, are often left waiting excessively for publicly funded treatments to be made available.

That is if you can even get on a waiting list, with recent slashings of many specialist waiting lists, patients and others whom are not yet ill enough to qualify to even get on a list, are now resorted to returning to their GP whom referred them in the first place!

Many patients luckily have the option of going privately for their various treatments, and many choose to do so, although the waiting time for many private speciality appointments is now noticably increasing.

So off it is to join the usually very long taxpayer funded waiting list. However, as mentioned above, public hospital waiting lists are growing by the day and some hospital departments no longer even accept routine appointments as there are too many on the urgent lists!

This has lead me to research other treatment options, remedies and wellness. The result is this website and associated ebook. I hope you at least find them interesting and helpful in some way. E haere rä.
